We recently addressed the question of optimizing the posts you publish on your blog. We talked about different good practices such as adding “share” buttons or attention-grabbing visuals. We also mentioned the importance of using catchy headers and integrating a conversion component in each of your blog posts.

Today, we offer you five more ways to optimize your business blog posts.

Tip #1: Use all the available space to generate leads!

Posting a blog is good, but integrating it in a more complete Web environment is better! Many people forget that the top and the sides of a blog are excellent spaces in which to integrate banners or buttons that redirect to their products or services.

These different CTAs (call to action) can direct the visitor to specific landing pages which contain your various offers.  And don’t forget to rotate your products. By testing different approaches you will achieve best results.

Tip #2: Offer practical solutions!

In order to perform well on search engines and generate leads, you must offer your customers solutions to their problems. Statistics clearly show that the most successful blog posts are those which suggest simple actions to implement.

To do this, you must put yourself in the place of readers when writing. This is a good practice to systematically integrate when drafting your blog posts.

Tip #3: Use corlourful examples!

Using metaphors is an excellent way to convey messages to your customers. We often forget that when reading these blogs, readers discover a world with which they are not familiar. It is therefore important to properly explain and to do so in a variety of ways.

For example, if you are addressing entrepreneurs in the construction sector, you should use metaphors that enable them to make direct links.

Ex.: A Web project manager is a little like a construction manager. The position calls for coordinating all the resources in order to build a website consistent with the architect’s plan, while respecting budget and deadlines.

Tip #4: Amuse your readers!

You want to avoid boring your readers. A good way to maintain their attention is to keep them amused. Regardless of the product or service you wish to promote, always consider the possibility of using humour in your post. This can be in the formulation of a sentence, or a picture or even a video. If you have any doubts about your ability to do this by yourself, you can call on an external resource for added creative impact.

Tip #5: Be confident!

The best blog posts are those which provide an established point of view and definitive information. This is not a good medium for questioning your professionalism. When writing your blog, remember to place the emphasis on your expertise and on sharing your knowledge.

Give your best advice, provide real information, and share statistics. In short, be an expert in your area!
